Investment Philosophy

At United Global Capital we have our own proprietary investment philosophy which we use to consistently guide us to make the most appropriate investment recommendations to our clients.   Direct share ownership offers a number of significant benefits to investors including:

  • The opportunity to benefit from the appreciation in value of the shares you own in a company.
  • The opportunity to benefit from receiving a share in the profits each company earns through the payment of dividends.
  • The ability to use the equity in your share portfolio as collateral for borrowings to support leveraged investment to enhance returns.
  • Tax effective benefits including franking credits and share buy backs and interest deductibility on loans used to purchase shares in companies.
  • The ability to enhance and extract value and manage risk through the careful use of derivatives contracts.

At United Global Capital, our guiding belief is that an investment should pay you each year you own it as a reward for sacrificing consumption today for greater benefits later. If there is not an identifiable and immediate benefit that can be determined from owning that investment, we simply look for one that does.
