Episode 26: Best of Joel’s global stock market education and rants

This week we’re sharing the best of our global stock market education and rants, that we believe will be helpful to you in 2019. Tune in to stay up to date with the events impacting the market leading up to this year.

Our Investor Exchange Round Table Discussion Covered:

  • In France and Belgium, the working and middle-class workers are enraged with the climbing fuel prices, purportedly created to dissuade fuel purchases and running cars. Unmoved by reported environmental benefits, protesters are fighting back against the increasingly high cost of living and disproportionate tax burden. (1:00)
  • The EU wants to see Britain and the UK suffer some pain or back out of Brexit, to set a standard for other countries who may also want to leave. Joel explains the potential outcomes including the exit, a vote of no-confidence,  immigration controls, and more. (10:18)
  • Joel predicts the correction in the market should pass shortly, and explains the nature of the market going through periods of backfilling and base building, before recovering from the types of corrections we’ve seen in the past few weeks. What that means is signs still look very favourable for the next 12-18 months. (16:43)
